We’ve donated some of our compost today to a great local community project, to create a flower bed to grow poppies to remember those who died in World War I. The wooden sign in the picture reads:
This Border is being prepared for growing poppies - wild flowers - to remember those from Penrith who gave their lives during World War I. Local volunteers have planted seeds and more will be sown by Newton Rigg College students in April.
Dalefoot are providing a special compost. 198 crosses will be added later in the year.
Penrith invite everyone passing by to help look after the border. Thank you.
