We have a spring in our step – literally!
Our Double Strength compost came out tops in BBC Gardeners' World magazine ‘potting up and growing on’ compost trial beating seven other leading peat-free and loam-based composts. The trial can be found in the April 2014 edition of the magazine.
The magazine found that for potting up and growing on basil, our Double Strength compost
"…produced the best basil in our trial. Roots filled the pot quickly, with strong stem and leaf growth. Good colour and plenty to pick.”
The compost was also used for zonal pelargonium plants. They said
"This compost came out tops in this trial. The plugs grew quickly and strongly, producing dark-green leaves and the largest number of blooms."
Our Dalefoot No 1 compost also fared well in the seed sowing compost trial, with good and even germination. Development was strong with dark green leaves.
